How to Place an Order from Search to Confirmation — Test instructions

  • The cart must be empty before starting so the order contains only the searched-for product.

Happy Path​

  1. Enter NP-16 in the site's global search box in the header and submit the search
  2. Verify the search results page displays results matching NP-16
  3. Open the NP-16 product from the search results to reach its product detail page
  4. Verify the product detail page shows the part number NP-16, pricing, and availability
  5. Set the quantity to 1 and click ADD TO CART
  6. Verify the add-to-cart confirmation (toast/mini-cart) appears and the header cart count increments
  7. Navigate to the Cart page (https://uatwww.rrxpreview.com/shoppingcart)
  8. Verify the cart contains the NP-16 line item with the correct quantity and price
  9. Click the CHECKOUT button to proceed to the checkout page
  10. Verify the checkout page displays the shipping address, shipping method, and order summary
  11. Complete any required checkout fields (PO number / reference, shipping method, terms acknowledgement) using test values
  12. Click the PLACE ORDER / SUBMIT ORDER button to submit the order
  13. Wait for the ERP submission to complete and verify the order confirmation page displays an order number
  14. Verify the cart is empty after the order is placed
  15. Navigate to Order History from the account dashboard and locate the newly placed order
  16. Open the order's detail view and verify the order number, line item NP-16, quantity, and order total match what was submitted
